As “Texas Tech Week” continues here at Lost Lettermen, let’s take a look back at the meeting between TTU and Texas in 2008, when star receiver Michael Crabtree provided the winning score with one second left.
Crabtree hauled in a 28-yard TD pass from Graham Harrell, snagging the ball along the right sideline at the six-yard line and shaking past two defenders into the end zone just before time expired en route to the Red Raiders’ 39-33 victory.
It was a meeting between two undefeated teams – the top-ranked Longhorns and fifth-ranked Red Raiders – on the first day of November. Texas went on to win the Fiesta Bowl, with its lone loss coming in this game, while Texas Tech lost in the Cotton Bowl.
Crabtree currently is a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers. Michael Crabtree profile
