UT WR Going to Olympics for Long Jump

Texas WR Marquise Goodwin is heading to London.

Goodwin notched a career-best 8.33m in the long jump Sunday at the 2012 Olympic Trials to earn a spot on the United States Olympic team. He also won at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 6.

The Longhorns’ athletic site said that Goodwin became the first collegiate player to win at the Olympic Trials and the NCAA Championships in the same year since 1960.

Goodwin had 33 catches for 421 yards and two touchdowns as a junior on the gridiron in 2011. It looks like he has an even bigger future in this summer’s Olympic Games.
