Chmura’s Son to Play FB at Michigan St.

The son of former Boston College and NFL tight end Mark Chmura has committed to play football at Michigan State.

Dylan Chmura told SpartanDigest.com the following: “I committed to Michigan State. I called head coach Mark Dantonio and had a great conversation with him and he’s very excited I’ll be joining the Spartan family.”

The younger Chmura, from Waukesha, WI, is a 6-foot-6, 230-pound tight end who also had offers from Central Michigan and Western Michigan. But he will head to East Lansing for the Class of 2013.

He missed his junior season after tearing his ACL, but his size and the 19 catches for 250 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore apparently have the Spartans excited.

His pedigree can’t hurt, either. Mark Chmura made three Pro Bowls in an NFL career with the Green Bay Packers from 1992-99. Dylan can only hope for that success in the future. Mark Chmura profile
