Brady Hoke is not making any friends in Columbus.
The new Michigan coach, who refers to Ohio State as just “Ohio,” has now been accused of telling recruits that the Buckeyes will get hit harder by the NCAA than USC did.
MGoBlog cited Dave Biddle of Bucknuts.com as saying Hoke has been doing some negative recruiting against Ohio State. Hoke reportedly told recruits they “shouldn’t fall for the same (stuff) Lane Kiffin sold all those SC recruits” as NCAA sanctions loom for the Buckeyes.
While negative recruiting is known to take place, it’s taboo among the coaching community.
With Kyle Kalis de-committing from OSU and possibly coming to Michigan, things are getting ugly in an already vicious rivalry.
Buckeyes fans loved Rich Rodriguez – all he did was lose – but it’s likely they’re starting to hate this Hoke guy.
