Petrino Takes $550K Hit on Mansion Sale

Bobby Petrino’s exit from Arkansas is about complete. His mansion has sold for $1.7 million, which is $550,000 less than he paid for it, according to ArkansasSports360.com on Tuesday.

The web site cited “a warranty deed filed Monday in the Washington County Circuit Clerk’s office. The report said Petrino and his wife bought the mansion in March of 2008 for $2.25 million.

The buyers likely knew that Petrino was anxious to get rid of his property as he made a hasty exit thanks to a scandal that rocked Fayetteville, where the coach was fired after an inappropriate relationship with a woman in the athletic department was revealed.

Plus, once his golf gear was dropped off at Goodwill, you knew the house was coming next.

Petrino’s house was for sale before the scandal broke. Arkansas made a rightous but poor decision in firing him. He should have been placed on probation, so to speak, but not fired. He broke no NCAA rule or criminal action. Hiring his girlfriend was for sure bad judgement. The rest is between he and his family. Arkansas actually was on the national radar, won’t br for long, without him coaching.

I have to agree with you, other than i think Arkansas can recover the momentum it had with Petrino. They as in the AD just need to find the right man for the job.

I wish there had been a way to keep him also, but you are incorrect, when he hired his mistress at the UofA, he mite as well turned in his resignation at the same time. Doing so he violated State law and therefore termination was inevitable. I think we will miss him as a coach, but he could never be trusted again while on the Hill. i don’t think any parent would be willing to send their child and put him under his care at this time. Maybe in a few yrs. he will be able to overcome and coach again………………

I for 1 feel CBP was released due to pressure from the people who believe Gus can have his job. I believe as a alum of the U of Ark and ex football player he made mistakes but should not have been fired. It has nothing to do with his record the man loved being the hogs and probation would have shown the AD was on top of his job. Since coming to Ark ESPN has tried to make Long look like a fool for hiring him so they talked down on Ark as our teams beat everyone except Bama while he was here. Nick Saban is a snake but he is Bama the big money school. I pray Cbp doesnt go back to Auburn to coach because as ex player his players loved him
