‘Bama Fan Rips Auburn on TLC TV Show

If stickers were the worst part of college football fan behavior, everyone would be better off.

Check the video below from the TLC show “On the Fly” – a show about problems faced by Southwest Airlines employees – which had a segment in which an Alabama fan nearly wasn’t allowed to board an plane en route to Birmingham, AL, for last year’s Iron Bowl for wearing one.

The fan refused to take off a sticker that said: “Go to Hell Auburn.” The problem was solved when a little girl at the airport gave the fan a sticker she got from Santa to help cover the ‘H’ in Hell so that the sticker was censored.

It’s a heartwarming holiday tale.

      Nothing any different than something coming from Ohio State or Michigan, or any number of other Northern, Mid Western or Western States, except with more class. I am so tired of people stereo-typing people from the south. I have two Bachelor’s, two Master’s and a PhD. I am a former Marine and a retired Military Officer and served my country in war. Oh by the way, a larger percentage of people who live in what is considered the southern states also have degrees and have served their country. But gosh, us dumb uneducated igits from the South is just not right in the head.

      Now, I am a college football fanatic. I am also an Auburn Fan and I am from Alabama and I support the best conference in college football, the Southeastern Conference. See, most of us in the South now, Black, White, Brown, Yellow, or whatever, are just Americans. Doesn’t matter to us what color, what state, or what your education level is. Respect is foremost and our ethnicity is American, our color is red, white and blue. Our love for our country and our region is unmatched. Sounds to me like you are just another SEC hater who cannot deal with Southern Pride, Southern Confidence, and especially Southern Football. Grow up.

        Rckd785 you can find plenty of heart warming stories from the south if you would look for the good. I am not sure where you are from but I had an Aunt and Uncle to move to South Alabama from Niagra Falls, New York. One day during lunch she was complaining about everything in the south and how great things were back home. I told her that I-65 and I-75 run north and south and to please get on either and return home if it was so great there. Otherwise, people down here do not want to hear her complaining and fault finding. Point being, if you live up north please stay there. That way I can enjoy the Gulf Coast without all of the blue-hairs complaining about everything. They also get in my way at the drink fountain at Burger King trying to refill the same disposable cup they got with the first Happy Meal they purchased when they arrived here at the beginning of winter! True story and it happens a lot! I call it stealing.

    It is a great rivalry and most of the fans have a lot of fun taunting the other team. Hell is not that most profane word and the sticker probably would have never been mentioned if someone at the airline hadn’t wanted to show his “authority” by demanding it be removed. This country has gotten overly sensitive about little things meant in fun that don’t really matter in the big picture. We have much bigger problems in this country than a sticker based on a great college rivalry.

      Our Country is what is going to Hell these days for its’ lack of morals, leadership and Christian principles. This incident just doesn’t seem offensive enough to deny the guy a boarding pass. Last year I was in Wal Mart with my step-daughters (ages 9 and 12) and there was a guy walking around with a T-shirt that said “F… You” on the front. I asked a manager if they could make the guy cover it up or leave and they said NO. None of this will be solved here but at least we can say Roll Tide Roll!!!!!!

        I am a State of Alabama resident born and raised in Alabama. I am a fan of Alabama and Auburn both.
        Have been Alabama fan for years because of the legendary Bear Bryant. Am also fan of Auburn Univ.
        I have a daughter and granddaughter both graduates of Auburn. So I can cheer for both teams and may the best team win. I am also fan of Atlanta Braves in baseball.. Also fan of figure skating. I consider myself to be diversified in my sports. My loyalties are not with sports teams but with GOD and JESUS CHRIST. May GOD help us all in this great USA we call home.

          JF, you cannot be a ‘true’ Alabama’ fan, and say you like auburn. You must not know anything about college football. Even though you claim to know everything. Alabama fans, don;t want you. Go back to the Atlanta Braves. And, please don’t mention ‘Jesus Christ, in the same sentence with auburn.

    Ignorance runs deep with both fan bases but so far Bama is winning in this area as well…This incident, the tea bagging incident and the tree poisoning incident. I hate the fact that a few fanatics ruin what should and could be a civil rivalry. I know it is for the most part, but at least try to find out how the players and coaches of each team treat each other on and off the field and carry yourself with similar class. If you have a sports hero the best compliment you can give them is to wear their colors with pride and represent them with class, dignity and respect for the opponent. The same way that the majority of the players and coaches try to represent their school, team or organization. I’m glad this guy has a lawyer because with his attitude he is definitely going to need him somewhere down the road.

    Yea fans will be fans because I’m a pretty brutal auburn fan. But I don’t have a shirt that says go to *ell Alabama….wish I did I might make one. It just goes to show you how the real trailer park hast to be for bama fans. And how they can’t stop thinking about beautiful Auburn and there historic football program.

    Also for all fans out there don’t say “we” when you talk about your team. Im very serious about college football as well as others, but the reason you shouldn’t say that is because. Did you play on the team….probably. So don’t sound ignorant because unless you play for them “we” didn’t do anything.

    I guess my next T-shirt would be: go to hell Southwest. How does S.W. get away with violating 1st amendment rights? The Bible belt is way too hung up on hell and other Bible conversations. These folks go on vacation to see these games and don’t need South West to be the Bible thumper and spoil sport. Check out Duke North Carolina basketball t shirts. Go to hell is tame in comparison!

    The folks on here running their mouths about Bama fans and folks from the south don’t know a thing! Alabama fans didn’t invent the Go to Hell buttons and stickers they have been around for years! Other programs use them but because it’s a Bama fan with the sticker all the Bama haters come out with their little BS remarks!
    The winners always get the most hate everyone hates on Bama and Bama fans because Bama wins!
