Lost Lettermen is counting down and ranking all 124 FBS college football teams from best to worst by comparing each to a well-known song. We will examine one team per day through the summer in the lead up to the 2012 season. Today’s team: The Bowling Green Falcons.

Skinny:
QB Matt Schilz played well last year in posting career-best numbers across the board. He was supported by a strong and versatile running game. Still, Bowling Green struggled after a 3-1 start, losing six of their last eight to finish the season – a slide that was started with a 55-10 loss to West Virginia. But it wasn’t Bowling Green’s time in 2011 despite the aforementioned talented offense and a defensive line that featured Chris Jones, who had 8.5 sacks.
But the song that best describes the 2012 Falcons? Blink 182′s “What’s May Age Again?” Bowling Green likely was down after its poor finish last fall, but a realistic self-examination reveals that it just wasn’t ready – like the fast-paced punk rock bands sings about their lives as 20-somethings. Now the Falcons return 18 starters and hope for a bigger splash in 2012, when expectations are more age-appropriate.
