We’ve seen some extravagant sports-themed wedding wedding cakes – and we thought this Cotton Bowl collection of cake balls literally, um, took the cake.
But former Ohio State hoops bench-warmer Mark Titus – who has made his name as a sportswriter and blogger – brings some competition. Check the photo below, which was tweeted by Titus on Saturday. There’s all types of stuff going on – mainly a wrestling ring with Shawn Michaels and Larry Bird squaring off – from Titus’ recent wedding.
And yes, that’s Michaels giving Bird the “Sweet Chin Music,” the swift kick that long has been the wrestler’s finishing move in the ring. All of it sits on top of a basketball with an Ohio State logo.
Titus tweets that it’s his groom’s cake, which is a technical way of saying that the bride – while a saint for allowing it – didn’t dream of “The Heartbreak Kid” and “Larry Legend” making cameos on her big day. Mark Titus profile
