Police raided the wrong house while searching for a man who is suspected of killing three men near Auburn’s campus on Saturday night, according to reports Tuesday.
Reuters said that police and the FBI were looking for Desmonte Leonard, 22, who is the main suspect in a shooting that killed two ex-Auburn football players among the aforementioned group slain and wounded a current Tigers player.
According to the report, authorities hit a house in Montgomery, AL – Leonard’s hometown – with tear gas. But citing FBI spokesman Douglas Astralaga, the report said it was not the right place.
The shooting took place at a pool part at an apartment complex near the school and has shaken the Auburn community.
