LSU football coach Les Miles had a message for the graduates of his alma mater, Elyria High School in Ohio: You gotta have swag.
Leave it the eccentric Miles to keep it simple during a surprise commencement address on Saturday. The Chronicle-Telegram reported that Miles was in town to celebrate his 40th high school reunion.
The report said that Miles was touring new $70 million Elyria High School on Saturday, when he talked with Elyria Schools Superintendent Paul Rigda about talking with the graduating class.
According to the newspaper, Miles started by giving familiar commencement advice about working hard and doing what you love before, well, doing what Miles does best – infusing humor into the situation, even if it’s unintentional.
“Swagger really means style,” Miles continued after telling the graduates to operate with swagger, according to the newspaper. “I’ve never met an Elyria High graduate who didn’t have style.”
And we know Miles certainly does.
