QB Murray Pranks Fans With Pink Helmets

Don’t worry, Georgia football fans, your team won’t be wearing pink on the field this fall.

Quarterback Aaron Murray posted a photo Thursday on Instagram of a pink Georgia helmet that he said would be part of the team’s “Pink Out” during the upcoming season.

When equipment manager Kevin Purvis followed that up with a tweet of his own that read in part, “Waiting for @usnikefootball to send the jerseys and cleats,” Georgia fans went into full-scale panic mode.

Murray, always the joker, then tweeted admitted that it was a prank later Thursday on Twitter.

“The pink helmet is not real for all those panicking and calling in about it,” Murray tweeted.

Check below for the shot of the pink helmet posted by Murray that, given all the ridiculous uniform and helmet changes in college football and the fact Georgia women’s gymnastics recently did a “pink out” for breast-cancer awareness, made the hoax actually quite believable.
