Charlie Sheen has tiger blood, Adonis DNA and … Lawrence Taylor’s Super Bowl ring?
That information is coming from NFL insider Jay Glazer, who tweeted Thursday that Taylor and agent Mark Lepselter were informed that L.T.’s Super Bowl XXV ring – sold at an auction for $230,000 recently, a record for Super Bowl rings – was bought by the hard-partying actor.
Glazer tweeted that he has no direct information from Sheen about the purchase, just that the former North Carolina and New York Giants star and his agent were notified that Sheen was the buyer. He later tweeted that Lepselter still was trying to confirm with Sheen representatives.
That being said, it wouldn’t be out of the question for it to be true. Sheen is a famous sports fan who has splurged on memorabilia in the past – and even once bought out the left field bleachers at an Angels game in search of a home-run ball.
Paulie Pabst, the producer of The Dan Patrick Show, followed up with Sheen, whom Pabst tweeted responded to a text in search of confirmation of the purchase with the following: “No comment.”
So we can’t say for sure if Sheen has Taylor’s bling, though the parallels between the two are obvious; both have had reported problems with drugs and have outsized personalities.
