Former West Virginia punter Todd Sauerbrun, a three-time NFL Pro Bowler, last played professional football with the UFL’s Florida Tuskers in 2009.
Sauerbrun was a second-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 1995 after a decorated career with the Mountaineers. He was a three-time All-Big East performer and a First Team All-American in 1994.
He played in the NFL until 2007 with five teams, though he is remembered in part for a four-game suspension in 2006, when he tested positive for a banned performance-enhancing substance. He now lives in Niles, IL, outside of Chicago and is apparently now an avid racquetball player.
The look back at Sauerbrun is part of Lost Lettermen’s West Virginia week. Todd Sauerbrun profile
