Kentucky star forward Anthony Davis, the presumptive No. 1 overall pick in the draft, could be the next star in Charlotte or he may play for the Hornets in New Orleans.
Maybe, that’s why he was wearing an old-school Charlotte Hornets hat in a picture provided by Terez Owens.
The Hornets, who moved from Charlotte to New Orleans in 2002, tied for the third-worst record in the NBA this past season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Bobcats, who set a record for NBA futility by percentage in 2011-12, became Charlotte’s pro basketball franchise in 2004 and are the mathematical favorites to land the top overall pick.
You can cue NBA conspiracy theorists – Patrick Ewing and the frozen envelope, anyone? -if the formerly NBA-owned Hornets win the NBA lottery and the rights to Davis on May 30th.
