Former Maryland and NBA star Steve Francis has entered the rap game. Brace yourselves.
Check out the video below of the song “Finer Things,” which shows Francis courting women to exotic locations, on jets and, yes, even a scene in which he playfully splashes around in the ocean.
Mostly, though, he raps poorly over an awkward beat as a singer screeches in the background. The rap video hasn’t picked up much steam since being posted on YouTube on March 1st, as it only has 906 views as of Wednesday.
We can see why.
Here’s a sample line: “The seats were suede, the luggage was Louis, the handbag was Prada but the shoes was Gucci.”
The second overall pick of the 1999 NBA Draft, “Stevie Franchise” hasn’t played in the NBA since 2008 and last played professionally in a short, ill-fated stint with China’s Beijing Ducks at the end of 2010. It looks like Francis still has some money left over but he might want to spend it more wisely than on abominable rap videos if he wants to avoid becoming the next Antoine Walker.
