Colorado football coach Jon Embree got his big moment with President Barack Obama on Tuesday, when Obama probably asked Embree the one question he didn’t want to answer during the President’s Boulder campaign stop.
“How they lookin’ this year?” Obama asked in reference to the Buffs’ football squad, which went 3-10 in 2011.
Embree awkwardly responded: “We’ll be better, we’ll be better, we’ll be better.”
Well coach, that shouldn’t be hard.
It didn’t help that Colorado hoops assistant Jean Prioleau got to brag a bit as the Buffs of the hardwood won the inaugural Pac-12 Tournament and made it the NCAA tourney’s round of 32.
Check the video below in which you can hear the worry in Embree’s voice during his brief encounter with the president. We expected the video to end with Embree mumbling, “No we won’t…” in disgust as soon as Obama turned his back.
