Cliff Alexander, a high school sophomore forward from Chicago, already had the attention of basketball recruiters. Expect the spotlight to shine brighter after his back-board shattering dunk recently.
Check the video below – courtesy of Ball is Life – of the 6-foot-9, 240-pound Alexander leading a one-man fast break. As the seas part, so to speak, Alexander rams home a jam that detonated the backboard and sent glass flying everywhere.
Alexander was playing for the D-Rose AAU squad – named after the Chicago Bulls’ star – when it happened. But he wanted to talk about an ex-NBA superstar known for snapping rims and smashing backboards.
“It felt good,” Alexander told Slam Magazine. “I felt like Shaq actually.”
Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Missouri – just some of the teams that have their eye on Alexander for the Class of 2014 – hope that he plays like Shaquille O’Neal.
