South Alabama associate football coach Kurt Crain was found dead on Tuesday. He was 47.
In the story posted on CBSSports.com, which garnered information from wire reports, it was reported that Crain died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The report said that an autopsy likely would be performed Wednesday.
Crain was an All-American linebacker at Auburn who played two seasons in the NFL. He had been on South Alabama’s staff since 2008. Kurt Crain profile
