ESPN’s “SportsCenter” anchors often have been criticized for their shtick. Well, Stuart Scott took that to another level on Sunday night.
Scott, a veteran ESPN personality, recited the highlight of the Kentucky-Florida game in the form of poetry. Yes, that’s top-ranked UK, which was going for an undefeated 16-0 SEC campaign against the Gators.
The Wildcats got it with a 74-59 victory – but not before Scott added gems like the following while the highlights played: “Kentucky’s Anthony Davis sets the screen, steps behind the line, tickles the twine, only his second triple of the year, and then the fear this team can put on you …”
And that was just the tip of the iceberg.
Oh yeah, and there was the distraction of Scott on a mini-screen as the highlight played. We can’t wait to see what ESPN breaks out for important March highlights as the postseason begins.
