Scotty McCreery is best known to the masses as the 2011 winner of “American Idol” and, subsequently, a best-selling country music artist. But that hasn’t stopped him from living the life of a normal college student.
The Garner, NC, native is in his first year at NC State. And like many students, the 19-year old was on hand to see the Wolfpack upset top-ranked Duke this past Saturday and rush the floor at the conclusion of the game.
One wouldn’t have blamed McCreery for immediately ditching his roots and pursuing stardom full-time after his “Idol” win. Good for him for choosing to go to college and enjoy all that comes with it, including cheering on his school’s hoops team.
