Former Texas Tech star and Super Bowl hero Timmy Smith is trying to get his life back on track after being released from prison in March 2008. He last worked as a bus dispatcher at the Denver airport in 2009.
Smith rushed for a Super Bowl-record 204 yards and two touchdowns in Super Bowl XXII to help lead the Washington Redskins to a 42-10 victory over the Denver Broncos.
After an injury-plagued career with the Redskins (1987-88) and Dallas Cowboys (1990) ended prematurely, Smith’s life was derailed when he was jailed in 2005 for cocaine distribution. Timmy Smith profile
