Those Crimson Tide are really persistent.
Alvin Kamara, a four-star running back for the class of 2013 from Norcross, GA, received 105 recruiting letters from Alabama on the same day, according to a Rivals.com feature on Thursday.
No, there’s isn’t an extra digit in there.
“I counted!” Kamara told Rivals. “And I took pictures. I was shocked. I didn’t expect there to be that many in the mailbox. When I opened it, it was overflowing and some of them fell out.”
According to the web site, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound Kamara – who ran for more than 1,500 yards as a junior – mentioned Alabama, Georgia and Syracuse among the host of schools after his services but said he really doesn’t have a leader in the clubhouse.
“… Recruiting wise, they stay in touch with me the most,” Kamara said to Rivals, speaking of the aforementioned troika of schools.
We think Alabama – led by recruiting coordinator Kirby Smart – does so a bit more than the others.
