Ohio State coach Urban Meyer continues to make recruiting waves at his new post. But this time it’s at the expense of Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio.
The Canton Repository reported that Meyer has sparked a rivalry with the Spartans after swiping Se’Von Pittman – a defensive end recruit from Canton, OH – who had previously committed to Michigan State.
“(The agreement) has been between the coaches,” MSU defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi told the newspaper.

“Jim Tressel and Mark Dantonio would never call or talk to each other’s commitments. People coach Dantonio knows well don’t come in and take players away. When you do, you lose friendships over that.”
It’s unclear how close Meyer and Dantonio were before this incident – Narduzzi would not speak for his boss, according to the newspaper – but any relationship apparently is over.
