Former Arkansas standout Oliver Miller pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and carrying a handgun on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press.
Citing prosecutors, the report said that Miller got into an argument with his girlfriend’s brother before “it him repeatedly in the head with a gun.” The AP said the victim needed 11 staples in his head to repair the wound.
It’s possible that Miller could spend between four and nine years in prison, the report said, but his clean prior record may help his cause.
Miller has played for six NBA teams in a professional basketball career that has spanned nearly two decades. He last played with the Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry of the Premier Basketball League in 2010 and also spent some time with the Harlem Globetrotters.
