SEC Flubs, Announces Mizzou Joined

The SEC’s official website accidentally announced that Missouri had been named the next member of the conference, according to some sleuth work done by Outkick the Coverage on Thursday.

The website said that there were pages available on the conference’s site in which there was complete coverage of the move with publication dates of last Saturday, October 22. The problem? It has yet to officially happen.

So it was a little surprising when visitors to the SEC’s website saw the story titled, “Tiger Tracks: Missouri Joins The SEC.”

The following was listed along with the news story of Missouri’s acceptance, according to OKTC: University Of Missouri: What You Need To Know, Missouri-SEC Connections: A History, Homecoming Tradition Traced To Missouri, Missouri To The SEC: The Dortch Report (Basketball), Missouri To The SEC: Barnhart’s Take.

The website said it was tipped off on Twitter and by fans who e-mailed to say that you could find the pages by searching Missouri on the SEC’s site. All the Missouri related stuff has been taken down without explanation, according to the OKTC.

This conference realignment stuff just get weirder by the minute.
