Video of 7-5 Hoops Recruit Goes Viral

We already profiled Mamadou Ndiaye, a 7-foot-5 center at California’s Brethren Christian High School, who towers over teammates and opponents as the tallest player in high school basketball.

But now we have video of the Senegal native playing in an actual game. If you ever wanted video documentation of what it looked like when you played against your little brothers on the Nerf hoop in your basement, well, take a look at the video below (and yes, we’re still trying to figure out how he lost the opening tip, too).

The longer we watched it, the worse we felt for those trying to guard Ndiaye, who wasn’t really sealing off defenders as much as he was swatting gnats away from his kneecaps. The clip now has nearly 150,000 views on YouTube.

By the way, Ndiaye is just 17 and a junior in high school. Already taller than any current NBA player,  there’s a scary possibility that he could still be growing.

The kid looks great, but still needs to work on some mechanics. Need to develop a better work ethic, since he looks like he’s just dazing around. I know he’s tall, but look at how agile Yao Ming, David Robinson was. If i was his height, i be breaking back boards every game lol. He threw down two dunks with authority, but needs to do that ALL the time. More drop steps and jump hooks, he’s golden.

    No DEFENCE

  3. Freep says:

He jumped maybe a total of 6 inches off the ground in almost all of those highlights.

  4. Greendayer says:

He appeared to be playing against the Washington Generals
